Officers discovered human remains on Tuesday at a North Hills home while investigating a missing person case from June.
A couple of weeks ago, detectives started looking into tips, leading them to believe that the house was tied to a homicide.
“This investigation started as a missing persons investigation in June of this year,” Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said. “The missing persons unit has been working the case since that time.”
Los Angeles police found the human remains after they served a search warrant at the property between Woodly Avenue and Woodley Place.
“This is a very large property. It’s roughly an acre,” Hamilton said. “To the rear of the area near the swimming pool, there were some areas that mat gave gad recent alterations and that led us to believe that area may have been involved.”
Officers plan to announce an arrest later Tuesday night.
“We are going to continue throughout the night in an attempt to recover all the remains that we have located,” Hamilton said.
