The Nelson name has been a familiar one in our community for generations. It’s with great pride that Dan Nelson shares with us that he continues the 80+ year legacy of Nelson’s doing business in Rice Lake as he embarks on his own business career as a licensed real estate agent at Real Estate Solutions. With such strong ties to the community, it’s not a surprise that Dan, his wife, and children have chosen to make the Rice Lake community their lifelong home. Dan is very involved locally and volunteers with a wide variety of local clubs and organizations. To learn more about the local leader we asked him four unconventional questions.
- What was your favorite Halloween costume when you were a kid? I was a three-headed monster when I was 10. That was a great costume!
- If you could do anything today, what would you do? I would enjoy a day outdoors with my family and friends up at my cabin.
- Would you rather shovel snow or fold laundry? Definitely shovel snow.
- Tell us about the clubs/organizations you’re involved in? I’m involved with Rice Lake youth sports and I’m also a member of Ducks unlimited and support the local youth turkey hunting programs as a mentor. I am a longtime Moose & Elks club member. I volunteer at Bethany Lutheran Church as an usher and help with youth sport events at St. Joseph’s. My wife and I also volunteer annually to help in the Rice Lake Aquafest entertainment tent.
With children in the Rice Lake School District, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dan at many youth sporting events and activities. However, in addition to his many other volunteer roles in the community, chances are if Dan is at a youth sporting event it’s likely he has a headset on or clipboard in hand. For the past 15 years Dan has been actively involved in coaching youth sports in Rice Lake. He has coached basketball, track and field, and is most actively involved with the Rice Lake Warrior Football program. Dan is going on his 13th season with the Rice Lake Warriors Football and for the last four years has served as a coach for the High School team. Dan’s impressive history of service to the community is a real testament to his deep connection and commitment to the people of our area. Dan shares with us that as a newer real estate agent at Real Estate Solutions he strives to bring that same level of commitment and energy to meeting the individual real estate needs of the people in our area.
