USA Today: Charlotte Beer Garden is the best US beer garden

Whether you’re new in town or a local, everyone knows that Charlotte is a beer city with dozens of breweries, bars and taprooms. According to a new report, it’s also home to the best beer garden in the country.

Charlotte Beer Garden, located in South End, was named the top beer garden in the U.S. in the 2023 USA Today Readers’ Choice 10 Best contest.

“Charlotte Beer Garden offers one of the largest selections of draft beers you’re likely to find in a single restaurant, with more than 400 beers on tap. Visitors can enjoy their beer of choice at the indoor-outdoor beer bar or on the heated patio,” the report says.

USA Today asked a panel of beer experts to nominate their top spots to enjoy a beer outdoors, then readers across the U.S. voted their favorite.

Best of the best

Charlotte Beer Garden, which opened in 2020, has the largest draft beer selection in the world. The three-story beer spot, has four bars and a rooftop filled with trees and plants for a garden feel, along with a full menu of burgers, pizzas, wings and other popular bar bites.

It’s no surprise seeing Charlotte Beer Garden in the national spotlight. Just last year, it was also named USA Today’s Best Beer Garden of 2022, CharlotteFive previously reported.
