Philadelphia 2023 public pool opening schedule | Philadelphia Parks & Recreation

ALL of Parks & Rec’s 61 public pools will open this summer, even though there’s a nationwide lifeguard shortage. All pools offer free swim lessons. They’ll also host mandatory swim lessons for more than 6,000 summer campers. See the schedule of opening dates below. This information will be updated regularly.

Hours and availability

  • Pool schedules and hours vary based on available staffing.
  • All open pools offer public swim from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Additional public swim hours vary by site.
  • In some areas, pools located close to each other will operate on a split schedule. This will help maximize community access to pools.
