The royal family has been letting us in on their cooking hacks and favorite recipes for years, and now we can bring home a liquor made with royalty-approved botanicals. The Royal Collection Trust is releasing a London dry gin that’s made with several ingredients sourced from the Buckingham Palace garden, and you won’t have to break the bank to add it to your own bar cart.
This premium, small batch gin is made with 12 different botanicals, many of which come from the royal garden. Lemon verbena, hawthorn berries, bay leaves, and mulberry leaves from the garden are all used in the production and flavoring of this gin.
The gin boasts an ABV of 42 percent and comes in 23-ounce bottles. They go for about $50 but are currently only available for delivery in the United Kingdom. Along with being available online, the Buckingham Palace Gin will be served at official events at the palace. Buy it for yourself and you’ll truly be drinking like royalty.
According to the press release, it’s recommended that the gin be served over ice, then topped with tonic, and garnished with a slice of lemon. All proceeds from the sale of the Buckingham Palace Gin will benefit the Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity that works on exhibitions, publications, loans, and educational programs.
