The world, as we have known it, is certainly changing, and that includes things in Colorado. Online sales are taking more and more “brick and mortar” shops away, including a gift/holiday favorite.
Whether it has been going in to get a gift or going in to get yourself an item to make your home look and smell wonderful, those days are coming to an end at the Centerra development in Loveland, Colorado.
Yankee Candle is shutting down.
Yankee Candle has just seemed like one of those shops that fit right in when It comes to the Promenade Shops at Centerra: A local location to shop for their wildly popular candles in person.

It was in January of 2023 that news was released that Yankee Candle would be laying off 13 percent of its workforce worldwide. That may have been the first “hint” that things weren’t going so well for them.
How many Yankee Candle stores are/were in Colorado?
With the closure of the Loveland location by the end of January 2024, that will leave five Yankee Candles stores in Colorado:
- Aurora – at Southlands.
- Broomfield – at Flatiron Crossing.
- Castle Rock – at TheĀ Outlets at Castle Rock.
- Colorado Springs – at The Shops at Briargate.
- Littleton – at Aspen Grove.
Will the other Yankee Candle locations in Colorado be closing?
I reached out to Loveland Yankee Candle, and they informed me that their location at the Promenade Shops could not agree on the new lease, which was too much for Yankee Candle, so they’ll be leaving.
With the other Colorado locations, it’s hard to say.
