The Craft and Home Improvement Fair, a signature event during Littleton’s Western Welcome Week, has been canceled, yet another example of the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have been unable to secure enough vendors to make the event viable,” Cindy Hathaway, WWW’s executive director, said in a statement Thursday.
“In addition, the current conditions with recent COVID-19 developments and restrictions would have precluded us from moving forward with the event,” she added.
It would have been the 61st annual craft fair.
Here is Hathaway’s full statement to Colorado Community Media:
It is with sincere regret that we inform you of the cancellation of the WWW 61st Annual Craft & Home Improvement Fair scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2020. We have been unable to secure enough vendors to make the event viable, in addition, the current conditions with recent COVID-19 developments and restrictions would have precluded us from moving forward with the event.
However, we are happy to report that we are creating a Vendor Page for Fair participants, that are interested, on the Western Welcome Week website. Watch your email for more information about this unique advertising opportunity!
On a brighter note, there are other opportunities to support our 92nd year. WWW is having the Pancake Breakfast as well as the Brad & Mary Bradford Memorial Duck Race. These are ways you can show your support for WWW; visit our website for an up to date listing of happening events by WWW and other organizations and cancellations https://westernwelcomeweek.org/events/ .
We want you to know that we greatly appreciate your continued support of Western Welcome Week during these challenging and changing times. We look forward to seeing you in 2021 for the 62nd Annual WWW Craft & Home Improvement Fair. Stay safe and well.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please feel free to contact the Western Welcome Week office if you have any questions.
