Flames tore through the inside of a home in Bardstown Thanksgiving morning.According to the Bardstown Police Department, the fire broke out around 8 a.m. at the single-family home on Moore Avenue.Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence, where a husband and wife were able to escape safely, officials said.Investigators tell WLKY that the couple lost power to part of their house earlier Thursday morning, and then woke up to smoke alarms and the residence full of smoke.Firefighters were able to save some personal items, but the interior of the home is a total loss. Officials said the house can be repaired.Nearly 20 firefighters from Bardstown and Nelson County responded.
