How to decorate small bedrooms to make them look bigger

How to decorate small bedrooms to make them look bigger

If your bedroom is not as big as you would like, there are several ideas to visually increase the space. In general, it adds up to betting on simple designs and light tones, and, obviously, keeping it clean and organized. Here are some tips that can help you:

Light tones reflect and multiply light, giving a feeling of spaciousness. White is preferred and followed by gray and sand. Keep this in mind for walls, textiles, and furniture.

lots of natural light

Prioritizing the entrance of light is key to making the bedroom look spacious. Use light curtains and do not put furniture near the window. If you can remodel, install windows that go from floor to ceiling, with thin frames.

Artificial light at different points

In the event that you cannot take advantage of sunlight, create good artificial lighting. Beyond the ceiling light, install lamps in the bed area and I chose some corner for a floor lamp.

a favorable distribution

Use the bed as a focal point, that is, as the area that focuses attention, and that the rest of the furniture revolves around it. That said, it doesn’t have to be in the center of the bedroom: perhaps it can be moved closer to a wall to maximize open space.

Multifunctional and light furniture

Opt for furniture with storage space, like a bed with drawers. If you have bedside tables or a chest of drawers, it is better that they are light, with simple lines and with legs so you can see the ground.

Light tables, optional

Depending on your bedroom, you can use that space for a dresser, choose side tables, put up shelves or install lamps at the head of the bed.

clear floors

Showing the floor helps make a room appear larger. Therefore, it is often a good idea pull out rugs if there are, and use, as we said, furniture with legs.

light fabrics

In bedding and curtains, I always preferred light textiles like cotton and linenwhich provide lightness on a visual level.

In addition to decorating and being useful, gives a sense of depth and reflects light. Leave it in a place where it reflects something spacious, in front of the focal point (the bed) or near a window.

Few plugins

Just as the uncluttered floor gives a feeling of spaciousness, the same goes for the walls and other surfaces. It is best to decorate with few objects, concentrated at the same point.
