ASHEVILLE – The most expensive home to sell in Asheville in at least 20 years is off the market after buyers agreed to a price tag of $7.7 million.

The Ellsleigh estate, located at 398 Vanderbilt Road, was designed by renowned architect Harrie T. Lindeberg for the late Robert Lee Ellis, former president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Asheville, and his wife, Nan, according to a Sept. 11 press release from Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

The home was listed by Marilyn Wright, an agent in Premier Sotheby’s Asheville office.

Built in 1927, the estate features five bedrooms, six full and four half-baths and is situated on 4.5 acres overlooking the fairway of the 13th hole on the Biltmore Forest Country Club Golf Course.
